Visiting Us
Do you offer walk-in shopping?
Romi Gold is a private, by-appointment showroom. It's how we give each guest, and each piece, the attention both deserve.
Where are you located?
We sit directly across from The Charleston Place Hotel's King Street entrance, just across from Louis Vuitton, and two doors down from the historic Riviera Theater. Your appointment confirmation will include precise arrival details, so you'll know just where to find us.
Is parking available nearby?
Metered street parking lines King Street, with The Majestic Garage just steps from our door.
Can I bring my pet to my appointment?
Our own studio companion may be roaming during your visit, so we ask that client pets please stay at home. If you'd prefer to shop without four-legged company, just let us know when booking.
Booking & Appointments
How do I book an appointment?
Bookings can be made here. Choose a Private Styling Consultation or a Virtual Styling Consultation, select your day and time, and complete a short questionnaire, a proper introduction before we meet. Once confirmed, we'll send along your secure deposit link to reserve your place.
Is a deposit required to book?
Yes, a $250 deposit reserves your private slot and applies as an immediate credit toward any purchase. Should nothing catch your eye that day, no matter, your deposit never expires, and simply carries forward to your next visit, whether in person or virtual.
How long is a standard appointment?
Ninety minutes of dedicated showroom access and styling, just for you.
What is your guest policy?
Each standard appointment welcomes up to two guests, allowing our full attention to remain on you.
Can I reschedule or cancel my appointment?
Life happens, and plans shift. Email us at least 24 hours ahead of your appointment so we may offer your slot to another guest, your deposit simply carries forward, ready for whenever you're ready to return.
Do you offer virtual consultations?
Yes. For clients further afield, our Virtual Styling Consultation brings the archive to you. After a short questionnaire, your sizing, your occasion, your taste, we curate a personal selection and ship it directly to your door.
Can I request a piece I saw on Instagram be pulled for my appointment?
Always. A little birdie told us Instagram is where a lot of love at first sight happens, send us the post, and depending on your appointment timing, we'll see what we can arrange to have ready and waiting.
Shopping the Archive
How does vintage sizing work?
Vintage tag sizes rarely align with modern standards, so we measure every piece in our archive. Our team is always on hand to guide you toward your perfect fit.

What condition are the garments in?
We restore, and prepare every piece to premium, ready-to-wear condition before it joins the archive. Little signs of age, are noted, and are simply part of vintage's charm, but nothing structural is left to chance.
Are pieces one-of-a-kind?
Yes, nothing in our archive is sold in duplicates. Each piece is acquired individually, so what awaits you today may not be there tomorrow.
Do you buy vintage from clients?
We're always growing the archive with pieces of true character. If you're holding onto something special, tell us about it at charleston@romigold.com.
Do you offer alterations or restoration?
Every piece arrives in the most restored condition we can achieve, so no repairs should be needed at purchase. For fit adjustments after the fact, we're glad to recommend the tailors we trust most.
What is your price range?
Our archive spans resort wear, intimates, occasion wear, gowns, and costume jewelry, up through rare, museum-grade finds, so pricing varies as widely as the pieces themselves. As a general guide:
Small accessories, hats, bags, and costume jewelry begin around $200
Vintage clothing typically begins around $250
Archival, ocassion-wear, & investment-tier pieces begin around $1,000

Purchasing & Delivery
Do you sell items online?
A curated edit of our archive, jewelry, accessories, and clothing, is available for purchase directly through our website. The vast majority of our collection is exclusive to private appointment, so we always recommend booking an appointment to experience the full archive in person.
Do you ship?
Purchases made online or through a Virtual Styling Consultation are shipped directly to you. In-person appointment purchases go home with you, or, if you'd prefer, we're happy to arrange courier delivery instead.
How do purchases made through Instagram DM work?
Once we confirm a piece is available and send your invoice, payment is due within 2 hours to secure it. Unpaid invoices release the piece back into the archive.
Do you offer courier delivery?
For continued shopping after your appointment, we offer flat-fee, trusted courier delivery, including to Charleston hotels, throughout the following areas:
Downtown Charleston: $65
Mt. Pleasant, Sullivan's Island & Isle of Palms: $95
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes, a Romi Gold gift card makes for a rather elegant introduction to the archive. Write to us at charleston@romigold.com to arrange one.
Returns
What's your return or exchange policy?
As each piece in our archive is one-of-a-kind, all sales are final. We're always glad to discuss measurements, fit, and detail before your purchase, simply reach out with any questions beforehand.
Care & Keeping
How should I care for my vintage garments?
Dry cleaning, or the care notes marked on your piece, is always your best bet. We tend to note our own custom care insights for most items, and we're always here for a follow-up question once it's home with you.
